Most of us have limited time and resources available for little more than getting through the day successfully. However, perhaps the most productive way to promote the Whole Earth Design Project (WEDP) happens to also be the simplest and least costly, that is, by spreading the word to family, friends, and neighbors, and suggesting that they do the same. Invite everyone in your address book, as well as your Facebook friends and Twitter followers, to visit the sponsoring website, at www.thecoalescence.net, where they can download a free copy of “THE COMING GLOBAL COALESCENCE” (or purchase a paperback version) and become acquainted with the social philosophy upon which the WEDP is based. It is on that website where they will also find links to the WEDP itself, as well as an opportunity to subscribe to a newsletter that will keep them informed of the project’s progress. While this radical concept will not appeal to everyone, there are no doubt a few from among all your friends who will welcome the invitation. You may find their reactions of great interest, and perhaps even prompt a stimulating dialogue.
If, however, you do have time available for greater involvement (perhaps you’re retired and looking for something to get excited about), here are some further suggestions:
Organize a discussion group. Order several copies of the book and invite a few friends over for a reading and discussion of the provocative ideas offered, guaranteed to result in lively discussions.
Use the United World Logo — ()>)( — as a conversation starter. If was very effective, for example, when it was handed out at Zuccotti Park which, at the time, was ground zero for the Occupy Wall Street movement. People looked at it and expressed curiosity about its meaning, and when asked to come up with their own explanation, some got it immediately, others took a few moments, but eventually they all understood its essential meaning although expressed with a variety of words. On day 32 of the Occupy Wall Street movement in Zuccotti Park, video portraitist June Logue put together a montage of signs that included the United World logo. You can go to Scrbd where you can print copies of the logo (eight to a page).
The next time you go to a march or political rally or economic conference, hand out flyers promoting the Whole Earth Design Project. Click here for a two-page flyer that you can download and print and here for a one-page version (smaller type).
